SHUKR, a new Dubai online bakehouse, launches this September with a concept that stands out in a city full of menus: one hero bake and one signature coffee. The star of the show is the Filipino ensaymada, a soft and buttery bake loved for generations, now given its own Dubai twist.
Starting 10 September 2026, SHUKR will be available to order across all major food delivery platforms in Dubai. For residents and tourists always on the search for something new, SHUKR Dubai is worth adding to the list.
Ensaymada is a beloved Filipino bake which is known for its soft, pillowy texture and buttery taste, with a layer of cheese on top. It brings together sweet and savoury flavours in a way that feels comforting and indulgent at the same time.
SHUKR has created its own Dubai version of this classic while staying true to the qualities that make it special back home.
The recipe took months of work, led by co-founders Panchali Mahendra and Rashed Yakhlef, alongside Carol Contreras, Group Head Pastry Chef at Atelier House Hospitality.

Instead of offering a long list of items, SHUKR keeps things deliberately simple with just one bake and one drink. The brand sums up its philosophy in one line: One Hero Bake and One Signature Coffee. The final ensaymada is soft, rich and buttery, topped generously with finely shredded cheese.

Alongside it sits a specially developed SHUKR coffee, also made with cheese, created purely to bring out the best in the ensaymada. Rather than being just another drink on the side, the coffee was designed from the start to complement the bake, making the pairing feel like a complete experience rather than two separate items.
SHUKR launches in Dubai in September 2026, with online ordering opening from 10 September 2026 through Deliveroo, Careem and Noon.
